Best AI for presentations

As of 2026-07-18, Anthropic: Claude Opus 4.8 (Fast) is the strongest model for this task in our daily benchmark, where over 350 AI models are evaluated and the best are presented.

AI is far better at structuring a presentation than at designing one. The value is in the outline, the message per slide and the script — not in the graphics.

For presentations we rank by instruction-following, because a fixed format is what makes the output usable. Ranked by instruction score, from today’s benchmark.

Start with the message, not the slides

Ask the model first for one core message and three points that support it. Then one slide per point, with at most three bullets and one sentence of script for each. Order matters: ask for slides first and you get fifteen slides with no through-line.

What you still have to do yourself

The model does not know your audience, your numbers, or what is actually at stake in the room. It gives you the structure — you supply the concrete examples, and you cut. The first draft is almost always too long.

hvilkenAI is independent. We have no affiliate agreements, sponsored placements or commercial ties to the AI providers we test. Every recommendation rests on test results alone.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI create PowerPoint files directly?
Some tools do, but they build on text the model generated. Quality is decided by the structure, and you can get that from any of the models ranked above.
Which model is best for presentations?
The ranking comes from today’s benchmark, where over 350 models are evaluated and the most precise are presented.
How many slides should a presentation have?
Fewer than you think. Give the model a ceiling — “eight slides maximum” — or you get a deck nobody can sit through.
Can AI write the speaker notes?
Yes, and that is often the most useful part. Ask for one short paragraph per slide, written to be spoken rather than read.
